Over the past three years, Jes Scheinpflug, in her roles as Outreach Coordinator and Director of Communications, has worked tirelessly to advance the mission of Open Communities and has made many important contributions to our work.
A little over a year ago, Jes began pursuing her Master of Social Work. This fall, she will reach the point where she must begin her clinical internship and therefore is leaving her full-time role with Open Communities. Her last day as a full-time member of our staff will be July 29. We all are sad to see Jes go, but we know that she will be as wonderful a social worker as she has been a social justice advocate.
We have begun the process of recruiting a new communications specialist. Jes will be available to train the new leader and to assist in their transition, but u ntil the new leader is fully up to speed, all media inquiries and communication concerns can still be sent to Jes. We will let you know when the transition is complete.
Please join me in wishing Jes all the best, and in thanking her for her exemplary dedication to fostering diverse and inclusive northern suburbs. I know that Jes will continue to be dedicated to this goal, even if the expression of her dedication may now take different forms. She is a credit to Open Communities and to the field of social justice.
