A controversial project anchored by Life Time Fitness heads, still in doubt, to a Sept. 29 vote by the Northbrook plan commission on whether to recommend approval by the village board.
Some commissioners have said the development at 1000 Skokie Blvd., which includes a fitness facility, a children’s day care/enrichment center and a 338-unit apartment building, doesn’t even belong in town.
“It’s still too much of a ‘campus of exclusion,'” Commissioner Steve Elisco said recently. “You either have to live here or be a member of one of these elements in order to be going here.”
