We are Launching a New Eviction Prevention Program

Updated: Jan 18, 2022

We are excited to announce the start of our eviction prevention outreach program.

Door chained up with lock

With the eviction moratorium ending, we anticipate a rise in evictions. Our goal is to keep people in their homes. To do that, we educate tenants and landlords about eviction prevention strategies.

This program will also address the increased number of evictions for justice-impacted individuals. Our Community Navigators will work throughout the Cook County suburbs to bridge the gap in resources for these affected communities.

This program will support clients who were unable to receive assistance from other programs in an effort to stabilize their housing. -Jasemen Hatcher, Director of Housing Counseling

Our Community Navigators will help individuals understand their rights and provide support to manage the eviction prevention process. They will also assist with retrieving necessary documents for cases and/or rental assistance applications.

Thank you to the Illinois Department of Human Services for funding assistance for this important program.
